Hippik
Features

A complete platform for equine morphometric analysis.

From automatic anatomical landmark detection to PDF report export, Hippik covers the full conformation assessment workflow. Here is what you get in detail.

Feature 01

Automatic anatomical landmark detection

A computer vision (deep learning) model automatically identifies, from a side photograph, the key skeletal landmarks: shoulder, elbow, withers, back, hip, stifle, hock, fetlock, pastern, hoof, neck. No manual pointing required.

→ You save several minutes per horse versus manual measurement, and eliminate inter-observer variability.

Feature 02

6 standardized biomechanical angles

Hippik computes the angles that drive performance and health: scapulo-humeral (shoulder), elbow, back, hock, fetlock, pastern. Mean accuracy validated below 2°.

→ You speak the technical language of vets and breeders, with measurements comparable across horses.

Feature 03

Statistical positioning by quartiles

Each measurement is compared to the distribution of a reference cohort (yearlings, 2-year-olds, race type, etc.). The system shows in Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 where your horse sits, with no value judgement.

→ You spot at a glance the outlier values (positive or negative) deserving your attention.

Feature 04

Exportable PDF report

In 30 seconds, Hippik generates a structured report: annotated photo, table of the 6 measurements, distribution charts, quartile positioning, horse identifiers. Professional format, ready to share.

→ You document your buy or sell decision, secure the client relationship and keep an audit trail.

Feature 05

Centralized catalogue of analyzed horses

All your analyses are kept in a private catalogue, searchable by name, sire, dam, analysis date. You can compare several horses side by side.

→ Your expertise compounds season after season: your eye stays, your data stays too.

Feature 06

Privacy and GDPR compliance

Your analyses are never shared with third parties. Sellers cannot see your searches. European hosting, documented GDPR compliance.

→ You work serenely on sensitive topics, with no risk of leakage to competitors or sellers.

Questions about features

What photo quality does Hippik expect? +
A side photograph of the horse, on flat ground, with all four legs visible and the full silhouette in the frame. A recent smartphone photo is enough. Hippik provides a shooting guide inside the platform.
Which angles are computed exactly? +
The 6 reference biomechanical angles in equine assessment: scapulo-humeral (shoulder), elbow, back, hock, fetlock, pastern. Full definitions are available on request.
Does Hippik work for all breeds? +
The model was trained primarily on the thoroughbred. Performance is excellent on racing breeds (PSF, AQPS, French Trotter) and good on saddle breeds. Dedicated models are in R&D for breeds with atypical morphology.
Can I integrate Hippik into my existing workflow? +
Yes. In the short term via PDF / CSV export of reports. An API is in development for clients who want to plug measurements into their own management tool.
