Example of Hippik conformation analysis with the 6 biomechanical angles measured on a horse
How it works

6 biomechanical angles. Sub-degree accuracy.

Our technology automatically identifies the key skeletal landmarks (shoulder, elbow, hock, fetlock, pastern) and computes the angles that matter for performance and equine health.

Frequently asked questions

How does Hippik conformation analysis work? +
Hippik analyzes a side photograph of your horse. A computer vision model automatically identifies the key skeletal landmarks (shoulder, elbow, back, hock, fetlock, pastern). The system computes 6 reference biomechanical and morphometric angles, compares the horse to a reference cohort and produces a quantified report. The result is available in about 30 seconds.
Is Hippik suitable for bloodstock agents and yearling sales? +
Yes. Hippik is designed for professionals who assess horses before buying or selling, particularly at yearling sales (Goffs, Arqana, Tattersalls). It objectifies morphological assessment, secures the buying decision and produces a shareable report you can pass to your client.
What source data do you use? +
We rely on standardized biometric measurements from our image analysis pipeline, combined with official performance data and partner stud-book genetic data. Each measurement is compared to a reference statistical distribution.
How are positioning quartiles computed? +
Each measurement is compared to the statistical distribution of the lot or reference cohort. The quartile indicates where the subject sits relative to its peers (Q1 = low, Q4 = high), with no value judgement — the expert interprets according to the desired profile.
Are my analyses confidential? +
Yes. Your queries and analyses are never shared with third parties. Sellers do not have access to your searches. Hippik is hosted in Europe and GDPR-compliant.
How accurate is the model? +
Mean accuracy on angle measurement is below 2°, scientifically validated against a test set manually annotated by equine experts.
